"I am aware,
of course, that people will have to take elements of this on the good
faith of our intelligence services, but this is what they are telling
me, the British Prime Minister, and my senior colleagues."
To
Go to war or not. It is the gravest decision a PM can take. It is almost
certain to divide the country. Some will call him a hero, others a villain
with blood on his hands. It is an unenviable position to be in, and a true
test of his character and moral integrity...
... and the skills of his spin doctor.
New
Labour's Dodgy Dossiers
Intelligence
on Iraq's supposed Weapons of Mass Destruction was "sporadic",
"patchy", and "limited" according to The Butler Report.
And
yet in the hands of New Labour that same intelligence was 'extensive,
detailed and authoritative," and proved "beyond doubt" that
the weapons existed.
This resulted in the two infamous 'Dodgy Dossiers' one of which was
in part copied from the internet and presented to Parliament as the work
of MI6.
The
scientist who cast doubt on the Government's Dossier putting the case for
the war in Iraq was found dead on 17 July 2003. The suicide of Britain's
top expert on Weapons of Mass Destruction followed a witch hunt by the Government
for the source of a BBC report that the Government had 'sexed up' its case
for war.
New
Labour is packed with lawyers who would never want to do anything illegal.
But it turns out that their idea of not have a UN Resolution similar
to President Clinton's idea of not having sex.
